At the heart of our priorities

At EMC, the safety and well-being of our employees, along with environmental preservation, are top priorities.

Our QSHE policy (Quality, Safety, Hygiene, and Environment) is central to our strategy and guides all our actions. Since 2010, our company has been ISO 9001:2015 certified, an international standard that reflects our commitment to quality and the rigorous management of our processes.

Quality Commitment

Driven by a constant pursuit of performance, EMC is committed to meeting its customers’ requirements by implementing a quality management system. This approach allows us to stay close to our clients, better understand their needs, and adapt accordingly to deliver increasingly efficient services.

Our activities comply with strict environmental regulations. We ensure respect for the environment at every stage of our processes, by preventing pollution and optimizing waste management. Thanks to modern facilities and strict oversight, we guarantee environmentally responsible treatment.

Safety is at the core of our operations. EMC involves all employees in a proactive safety approach, both at production sites and in administrative services. We regularly update our Occupational Risk Assessment (EvRP) to ensure a safe working environment for our employees and users of our facilities.

Our services

2 main ICPE sites (Classified Installations for Environmental Protection) located in Nouméa, with operations extending across the entire New Caledonian territory.

More than 45 employees engaged in various recycling and waste management activities. Several thousand tons of ferrous and non-ferrous metal waste are processed, recovered and exported every year.

Our core areas of expertise:

Each regulated stream,

its own treatment

The Southern Province is reinforcing the organization of waste management streams, some of which are governed by Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), based on the “polluter pays” principle (Article 422-1 of the Environmental Code).

In each EPR stream, producers must develop a waste management plan for the waste they generate. If this plan meets the stream’s specifications, an approval valid for a maximum of five years may be granted. Producers can fulfill their obligations either individually or collectively, in partnership with an eco-organization accredited by the Southern Province (Article 422-2 of the Environmental Code).

EMC plays a key role in the treatment of these regulated waste streams:

  • LABs (Lead-Acid Batteries): Approved collection operator

  • ELVs (End-of-Life Vehicles): Approved treatment operator

  • WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment): Approved treatment operator

  • Used Tires: Approved collection and treatment operator
