Directors’ Editorial

Since 1964, the Etablissements Métallurgiques Calédoniens (EMC) have played a key role in New Caledonia’s waste treatment sector. We contribute not only to environmental preservation, but also to local economic development, with a team of over 45 employees. Pioneers in metal collection and treatment, we are constantly striving to meet the needs and expectations of our clients. This commitment led us to a quality management initiative, achieving ISO 9001 V2008 certification in 2010.

To further strengthen our environmental commitment, we obtained the ISO 2001 certification. This reflects our continuous effort to reduce the environmental impact of our operations. Innovation, safety compliance, and service quality are at the heart of our company’s mission. In a constantly evolving sector, we offer a wide range of services:

  • Recycling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • Recycling of regulated waste: End-of-life vehicles (ELV), Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), Used Lead-Acid Batteries (ULAB)
  • Comprehensive waste management solutions: tailored services and support for your environmental initiatives
  • Collection services – Skips and bins: Waste collection and skip rental
  • Demolition: Demolition of metal and concrete structures, and boat deconstruction

Each year, we export several thousand tonnes of materials resulting from waste transformation. Thanks to our work, New Caledonian waste becomes a sustainable resource instead of an environmental burden. EMC is an experienced team ready to offer you personalized solutions tailored to your needs and goals.
